Whether hiking, rock climbing, Nordic walking, mountaineering or simply having a short walk with a picnic to follow – Plätzwiese offers visitors a host of opportunities.
Whilst mountaineers conquer the Hohe Gaisl or Dürrenstein, families with children can explore the Strudelkopf mountain and enjoy a breathtaking view of the three-peaked Drei Zinnen mountain.
There’s also something for passionate mountain bikers – the Dolomiti Superbike, the most famous mountain bike race course in the Alps, goes right past our door.
Winter
Away from the downhill skiing hustle and bustle, cross-country skiers, snowshoeing enthusiasts and ski tourers have found paradise here because the unspoilt landscape of the Plätzwiese not only offers seemingly endless ski tours and snowshoeing areas of all grades of difficulty but also a 6 km long cross-country skiing circuit!
